Even though it's big and spacey and decently lit, Spatz still has that dive bar feel with dart boards and pool tables and dirty bathrooms. They have a great deck out back and really strong drinks. They still allow smoking so be prepared to hold your breath.

Typical "dive" bar - as some reviewers have already noted, Spatz has plenty of faults & shouldn't be your first stop on a night out. (Arguably, it should not be your second, third, fourth, ... you get the picture.) I can't give it a one- or two-star review since I've been here plenty of times and have always had fun. To me, it's merely average ... though a three-star review for a bar of this caliber isn't too bad. Actually, it's quite generous. I've never eaten here - just drank & played pool - so I can't comment on the food. Check it out if you're in the area & want to play pool and/or grab a few cheap drinks. Otherwise, you won't be missing much.

Great drinks and good wings . Bridgette rocks it

Great spot can come here and know im safe the bartenders are great the srinks are always good.. it is a bit smoky but what bar isnt? I mean that doesnt allow smoking inside pool tables are normally taken ao get there early if u wanna play pool. But overall a nice relaxed atmoaphere.

Go to this place mostly for the pool tables. I don't know why it calls itself a "deli" because it is definitely far from it... it's more of a pool hall. The service is bad except when Rob is there. And the food is average (burgers, fries, onion rings). They have domestic drafts, a popcorn machine, and arcade games. Good for a Sunday night wind down.

Never Again! This place was a definite dive bar and not in a good way. We started our evening here so that might have been a bad decision. I was lucid for everything and hated how dirty it was, how bad it smelled and how you could smoke inside. This might have changed since I went well over 1 year ago. I refuse to go back. Ok place to play pool but I would not spend my evening here ever again!

Spatz is definitely what everyone else has described - a dive. But if that's what you are looking for, then it is exactly the place you should go. It's dimly lit, smoking is allowed, and there's no dress code. In the dive bar plus column, I would point out that they have a big deck in the back, lots of games to play inside (i.e. pool, video games, darts), a juke box, TVs and free popcorn. So if you're able to handle the smoke and don't mind the , at least you won't feel crammed, you can play your favorite song and snack on some popcorn.

The bartenders are jerks, I would recommend against going to Spatz. I had a bad experience here.

Ok this place is not for all people and it's definitely not your first stop in the evening. This is the type of place that you decide to visit in a questionable frame of mind induced by imbibing spirits and other questionable substances at other destinations. For example: Person A: Hey I'm not tired!!!! Where do you want to go next!! Person B: You really want to continue this? Person A: Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Person B: Spatz? Person A: YEAAHHHH! That is, in general, how one comes to find themselves at the establishment known as Spatz. For example, I was a groomsman at a wedding at one of the premier wedding locations in Orlando, Casa Feliz. At some point a conversation like the one described above occurred and soon we were in Spatz. I would love to say that I have vivid memories of Spatz and include tons of detail, but it just isn't the type of place that you leave with a vivid memory. I don't care how upscale your normal routine is. You need to make that bad (good) decision and finish your evening over at Spatz.

If you go solely by outward appearance, 98% of people would skip by this place in a heartbeat, but hey, my mom taught me to never judge a book by it's cover. My friend brought me here after a night at Fiddlers. When we walked in I was a little taken aback by the strip mall location, weird crowd, and wood paneling on the walls. I have an open mind though, so after a few jack and diets, we played a pool and started having a great time. The people were really cool, and I wasted entirely too much money in the jukebox, which resulted in me singing 80s rock at the top of my lungs and then spilling multiple drinks in my lap, but I'm pretty sure that was what made the night so enjoyable. Waking up on my friend's couch the next morning at noon with the headache from hell leads me to believe we enjoyed ourselves at Spatz, and I may very well be visiting that fine establishment again soon.

I've been twice. This place is disgusting. The end.

Great place to sit on the deck and have a few cold beers. Service was slow, but the food was great. My burger was sooo good. Ellen our bartender was so funny.

for me this is as good as it gets! Chicken wings, booze, juke box,bar games & sports I crave this place and whenever I am in Florida my plans revolve around this joint

I love this place and it's my first choice especially when I get off work. The liquor and beer selection is great and I love the atmosphere. The bartenders are friendly and make kick ass drinks. Rob and Courtney are my go-to bartenders. They always make the drinks quickly and definitely know how to run the bar on a busy night. There are plenty of pool tables and dart boards to keep yourself entertained. Not only are their drinks strong and quick they also have some great food and you can never go wrong with anything you pick on the menu. Every time Petro is working my food comes out amazing. I recommend Spatz to anyone. It's a great place to socialize and make new friends.

There is nothing appealing about this place unless you serve tables locally in Winter Park & want a place to smoke cigg's in doors & drink your life away on water'd down drinks. Staying home is more fun.

Couldn't ask for a better spot in town! Great spirits, great food, and even better bartenders! Can't go wrong with OG Rob as he's been pouring the best drinks in town for years. Karen is an amazing addition as she just brightens my day. ;-) Check this spot out!

Four stars for a dive bar in the heart of winter park. A few things... I'm a fan of sipping martinis at the Ritz, as much as I am the fan of a good little no frills bar ... Spatz has it's pros and cons .. depending on who you are... so here goes ... They allow smoking inside .. so if that's a deal breaker for you ... move along. I just want to be upfront about that ... I have found that it's well ventilated .. but it depends on where you stand with smoking in any situation. They do serve food. I have personally never eaten there but my friends have and they rave about the wings. I'm not sure why they call it a deli .. but again.. I've never eaten there. What I can tell you is that they have plenty of pool tables and some other bar games (trivia machines, golden tee golf etc.). The beer selection is nice ... some good ones on tap (served in a clean glass at the right temperature!), and a diverse bottle selection as well. During major/and local sporting events you will be able to follow the action on a myriad of televisions throughout the bar. Otherwise, they use a digital juke box for music. I love that ... it can be good or bad depending on what is playing right then and there .. so be prepared to hear anything from top 40, speed metal, the man in black, or the man who raps .. it's a toss up and for some.. that can be a deal breaker too. It's really dependent upon the crowd ... you do have the opportunity to put your music selections first for an extra fee if you need a break from the vox populi. It's about tolerance .. and knowing everyone is there to have a good time! The parking can be tricky out front .. and is especially dependent on which direction you are coming from on fairbanks. It's close to 17-92/MILLS so a left hand turn across traffic can be problematic. No fears .. there is also parking behind the bar accessible from a side street. Do not park next door. This is prime real estate .. (meaning another bar and THEIR patrons) or you will be towed. Bummer for the night .. right? I failed to mention that they do have an outdoor bar/patio ... and due to some weird winter park mandate they close at midnight on Sundays... no kids after 10 .. but other than that .. cool little spot in the neighborhood .. cheap, friendly, no frills fun.

Spatz is indeed, A-OK. It's loud, and there's an assortment of very, very strange people, off-color smells, and an overall less than lovely outer appearance... But, if you have your friends with you and you want to have a blast playing pool to the most incongruent music playlist ever... Then Spatz is your spot! By no stretch of the imagination does that mean I'm suggesting you to drop your other plans or go way out of your way to check this place out... But! If you're in the area (I'm often at Austin's Coffee next door) and you need something to do, Spatz can really be a good time. :) I agree with Aaron F., it's normally the spot to keep the party going after your first or even second destination.

I love this place. I have been coming here for years. Ignore the negative reviews. They're just whiny, prissy people who can't appreciate a great townie bar. They would be better served to stay on the park ave side of winter park where they belong. Stop being keyboard warriors and slamming a great bar. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have the cojones to day those things to the management while they are actually present in the establishment. Yelp cowards. But enough ranting. Let me tell you why this place is great...and let me preface this by saying that this place is not for everyone. If you are an anti-smoking nazi you would be well-served to steer clear of this place. They allow smoking in the bar while still being allowed to sell food above 10% of their total sales. Don't know how they pulled this off but I'm not complaining. There are very few bars left in this country that the anti-smoking pansies haven't gotten to, so that's a plus in my book right off the bat. I like to have a smoke with my scotch because I'm a red-blooded American man, not a tofu - eating hipster wuss. Speaking of scotch, this place has some of the most generous pours I've ever seen so the guy that was bitching about the watered-down drinks was probably just ignorant to his bartender. As stated by many others here Rob is great. Been here since I can remember and is the best bartender in town. The food menu is small, but solid. My only gripe with the menu is the same gripe I have with every place in Florida that sells "Philly" cheesesteaks. They get it wrong like everybody else down here. I'm from Philly. A real Philly cheesesteak does not have green peppers or mushrooms. You go to Philly and ask for that garbage you'll be laughed at. A traditional Philly cheesesteak is sliced ribeye steak, cheez whiz, and fried onions. But I digress, can't really slam them too much for this cuz they're not from Philly so they don't know. Where was I? Damn alzheimers, lol! So yeah, great townie bar, heavy pours, solid food, indoor smoking, and an interesting mix of people. Only thing they're missing is a bike night. Very industry - friendly so if you're in the restaurant industry this is a good after-work spot to unwind. I'll be coming to this place for years to come. The least pretentious spot in winter park.
